PHAETON NETWORKS TO DEPLOY MODULAR DATACENTRES AT PHAETON SMARTER COMMUNITIES

To establish the most decentralised Blockchain Platform, Phaeton — through its silo Phaeton Networks — will be deploying Modular Data Centres in Smarter Communities. The deployment of these data centres complements those being deployed at Phaeton Energy’s Microgrid Solar Farms. Phaeton has secured two Smarter Communities development sites where Modular style Data Centres will be part of the built form. These include locations in Mandurah and Karratha, Western Australia.
What is a Smarter Community?
These core elements apply to all levels of community housing, be it group housing, high-rise apartments, or new land development estates.
What are the benefits of having a data centre in a Smarter Community?
Most housing projects are marginal in revenue and, at times, not financially feasible. This problem is due to the high cost of construction. By incorporating a Phaeton Networks Data Centre, a higher yield is achieved over and above the development’s rental yields. Modular Data Centres occupy 28.8 square metres and produce yields over 100%, whereas rental yields reach only 5% or less. Blending the two yields, then the development becomes bankable. In addition, the Data Centres will include Helious Deployer Nodes where the project can secure additional passive income.
Mandurah Smarter Community

The proposed Mandurah development is based on the concept of an affordable “Co-living and NDIS Community Hub” under a “Build to Rent” model aimed at creating a “Social Impact”. The project is located at the Mandurah Station. It consists of 32 apartments made up of 10 NDIS apartments and 22 affordable co-living rental apartments. In addition, a commercial section accommodates an NDIS Therapy Hub and an enterprise Coffee Shop to train and provide work for people with disabilities.
Phaeton’s policy of ecologically sustainable development has been adopted in this project. The construction methodology is “Tall Timber”, a sustainable modular system. In addition, there is a provision of a solar array and urban agriculture on the rooftop. The latter is for the residents to grow their vegetables whilst enjoying the ocean views from the roof deck. A Data Centre will be located on the top floor and powered by the solar array.
Karratha Smarter Community

The Karratha project is a mixed-use development located directly opposite the new Karratha Health Campus. Like Mandurah, the project offers affordable “Co-living and NDIS Community Hub” under a “Build to Rent” model aimed at creating a “Social Impact”. In addition, the project includes a 28 Serviced Apartment Medi-hotel catering for regional medical staff and patients visiting the Karratha Health Campus. A commercial section accommodates a Medical Centre with a NDIS Therapy Hub and an enterprise Coffee Shop to train and provide work for people with disabilities.
The project is an ecologically sustainable development, where sustainable building materials are incorporated in a modular construction system. A Phaeton Networks Modular Data Centre will be located on the top floor and powered by the solar array.
